Designed for both beginners and advanced birders alike, this presentation will describe the basics of bird identification and how these skills may be built up for a better and more speciose birding experience! We'll review birding basics such as birding by habitat, season, behavior, as well as the basics of visual & auditory identification. Over the talk we'll build upon these skill sets to discuss predictive birding (how to identify birds that may be in an area based on the time of year & habitat) and how to locate rarities!

The Wild & Scenic Festival is an incredible selection of short outdoor adventure and activism films, hosted by the Kentucky Conservation Committee. The Festival includes ten great short outdoor adventure films plus an evening of fun with door prizes and an online auction- at the Farish Theater at Central Library (your in-person ticket also includes access to a virtual screening after the event so you can enjoy the films again).
