Dan Sweigard, Owner

Hello, my name is Dan Sweigard, the owner of Wild Birds Unlimited here in Lexington, KY as well as the WBU in west Cincinnati, OH. For over twenty years, Wild Birds Unlimited has been proud to "Bring people and nature together." Here in Lexington we look forward to continuing the tradition, we are part of a Franchise with a retail philosophy of "Educating people about birds and nature." In order to accomplish this, we are trained extensively on birds, bird activity and habits, and products available to the backyard birder.

Nic, Store Manager

Nic is a Certified Birdfeeding Specialist and comes to us from the west Cincinnati store. He has proved to be an all around asset in and out of the store. Nic has been involved in community outreach through presentations for school children as well as other local organizations. Nic has been an avid birdfeeder all his life, growing up in a family that values everything in nature. His favorite local bird is the Blue Jay and he recommends whole peanuts, black oil and striped sunflower, and peanut suet to attract this extremely smart and beautiful bird.

Chris, Sales Associate

Chris has been working at WBU Lexington for 20 years. He has a passion for nature and enjoys sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience with his fellow staff and our customers. His favorite local bird is the Black-capped Chickadee, he recommends black oil sunflower, peanut pieces and suet to attract this beautiful little bird. His preferred WBU foods to feed at home is the No-Mess Blend, Woodpecker Blend and Naturally Nuts suet.

Victor, Sales Associate

Victor has been working at WBU Lexington for 10 years. He is an avid birdfeeder and enjoys talking all things birds. His favorite local bird is the Northern Cardinal, he recommends black oil sunflower, peanut pieces, a water source and multi-level feeding stations to attract this most desireable bird. The WBU foods he chooses for his backyard include: Deluxe Blend, Nyjer, Naturally Nuts suet and Bug Bites suet.

Angela, Sales Associate

Angela is the newest addition to our staff at just 1 year. She has recieved her Certified Birdfeeding Specialist and enjoys helping new customers just getting started on their new birdfeeding hobby. Angela says her favorite local birds are the Woodpeckers and recommends peanuts (whole and pieces), suet (Bug Bites and Almond Munch), black oil and striped sunflower, apples, meal worms and suet snacks to attract this fun group of birds.

Tina, Sales Associate

Tina has been with WBU Lexington for 16 years now. She has recently gone from part-time to "on a need her desperately basis," as she is taking some much needed time to relax at home with her birds. Tina says her favorite local bird is the Mockingbird as it gets a bad rap for being a little territorial. She recommends suet snacks, raisins and grapes, Nut'n Raisin suet, and meal worms to attract this misunderstood bird. The WBU foods she chooses for her backyard include: Select Blend, Deluxe Blend and Naturally Nuts suet.
